Checklist for gyms
Opening check – Checklist for gyms
The first minutes decide how the day at the gym goes. A fixed opening check makes sure reception, gym floor, changing rooms and emergency exits are inspected before the first member walks in – the same way every day, whoever is on the early shift.

BACKGROUND
Why a fixed opening round? Pre-use checks catch obvious faults before members do. HSE, the regulator in Great Britain, notes that for much work equipment a quick visual check before use is sufficient, with formal inspection where significant risks can arise (HSE: Inspection of work equipment). The opening check turns that into a routine with timestamp and name.
