Checklist for gyms

Equipment safety inspection – Checklist for gyms

The weekly equipment checklist finds wear; the yearly inspection check keeps the deadlines in view: valid inspection labels, electrical equipment, ladders, fire extinguishers and appointments with specialist firms. It does not replace an inspection by a competent person – it makes sure none is forgotten.

EQUIPMENT SAFETY INSPECTION

Annual visual inspection of the equipment and an overview of the expert inspections due.

  • 8Check items
  • 1Required photos
  • YearlyRhythm
  • 30 daysLead time

The first due date is the day you create the checklist; after that it is due every year on the same day. It appears in “Today” 30 days before, so there is time to plan it. If it is not done, it is marked overdue and the admins – plus the people responsible, if you assigned the checklist – get a notification. You can change the first date, rhythm, lead time and responsible people afterwards in the editor under “Repeat” and “Responsible”.

BACKGROUND

In Great Britain, PUWER requires work equipment exposed to deterioration to be inspected at suitable intervals and the result recorded (PUWER regulation 6). This yearly checklist does not replace that inspection – it keeps inspection labels and dates in view.
