Terms of Use

Last updated: October 2, 2026 · This is a translation for your convenience; the German version is legally binding.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

DocuWunder is provided by Damien Frigewski, George-Stephenson-Str. 6, 1. Etage, 10557 Berlin, Germany (“we”, see legal notice). These terms apply to your use of the DocuWunder app. If you got the app from the App Store, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies as well.

2. What DocuWunder is

DocuWunder is an interface (a “client”) for Paperless-ngx archives. The app only ever connects to the server whose address you enter yourself, and shows and edits your documents there. Your documents, their details and your user accounts live on that server – not with us. We don’t run any service your data passes through, and we have no access to it.

You don’t need an account with us. You only sign in to your own archive.

3. An independent, unofficial client

DocuWunder is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or maintained by the Paperless-ngx project. Which features are available depends on your server’s version, configuration and permissions. Changes to Paperless-ngx may limit what the app can do; we can’t promise compatibility with every version.

4. Your server, your responsibility

You – or whoever runs your server – are responsible for operating it, keeping it reachable, secure and up to date, and backing it up. The same goes for the content of the archive and for the user accounts, groups and permissions you create or change there, including through DocuWunder. If you add other people to your archive, you are responsible for their data protection.

Actions in the app take effect on your server immediately – deleting documents, changing permissions or removing members, for example. Please back up your archive regularly.

5. Demo server

So you can try DocuWunder without a server of your own, we provide a public sample instance. It contains made-up data only and is reset completely at regular intervals. Anything stored there is visible to everyone else using the demo. Please don’t upload real or personal documents. There is no guarantee that the demo server is available, and we may delete content there at any time.

6. Optional in-app purchases

DocuWunder may offer optional extras that you can buy in the app. Purchases are made and billed through your Apple Account under Apple’s terms. The price, scope and conditions of a purchase are shown to you in the App Store before you buy. Refunds are requested from Apple. Previous purchases can be restored in the app.

7. What we ask of you

Only use DocuWunder with servers you are authorized to access, don’t use it to process unlawful content, and keep your sign-in details to yourself.

8. Ongoing development

We keep developing DocuWunder, so features may change. We can’t guarantee that the app will always work without interruption or errors.

9. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the German Product Liability Act. For slight negligence, we are only liable for breaches of essential contractual obligations, limited to the damage typically foreseeable for this kind of contract. Beyond these limits, we are not liable for the operation of your server or for data loss that a backup would have prevented.

10. Final provisions

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods; mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected. We announce changes to these terms on this page with a new date. If any provision is invalid, the rest remains in effect.
